BJP leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa, who is set to take the oath as a minister in the new Delhi government today, expressed his gratitude to the party leadership for the opportunity.
“I thank PM Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, JP Nadda, Baijayant Panda, and Virendraa Sachdeva for including me in the team formed to realize PM Modi’s vision for Delhi. This is a huge opportunity, and I am honored to serve as a Minister. Together, we will work towards making Delhi beautiful again,” Sirsa said.
The swearing-in ceremony for the newly elected government will take place at 12:15 pm today. Delhi’s designated Chief Minister Rekha Gupta will take the oath along with other ministers, including Parvesh Sahib Singh, Ashish Sood, Ravinder Indraj Singh, Kapil Mishra, Pankaj Kumar Singh, and Manjinder Singh Sirsa.
Rekha Gupta, who will be the new Chief Minister, also expressed her gratitude to Prime Minister Modi and the party leadership for believing in her. “I will stand up to his expectations,” she said.
Rekha Gupta, elected from the Shalimar Bagh seat, has previously served as the general secretary of the BJP Mahila Morcha in Delhi and as a member of its national executive committee. She has spearheaded several campaigns aimed at supporting marginalized communities and women.
The ceremony will be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, other Union Ministers, and NDA Chief Ministers and Deputy Ministers.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is returning to power in the national capital after 27 years. The BJP secured 48 out of 70 seats in the recent assembly elections, while the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) won only 22 seats. Congress failed to win any seats for the third consecutive election. Following the results on February 8, opposition parties criticized the BJP for the delay in forming the new government.
